I registered to Ubuntu Forums then next day it gets hacked FML.... :[
Remember when they made a announcement way back saying that we needed to change passwords?
Yeah, that's the time I made a account here the day before.
    What bad luck I have.
I was wondering, did this happen to anybody else too?

The statement on changing passwords, is more about changing passwords on other sites.

A lot of people use the same username/password on multiple sites.

Don't worry about your forum password, as that has already been changed.
Along with it being rendered disabled.

I do not know what you mean by, did this happen to anyone else, but every forum user/member was affected by the hack.

Thread moved to Forum Feedback & Help.

Everyone's account was affected, which is why, amongst other things, the method of logging in was changed.

Careful Mods/Admins ! They have registered again !!

Welcome to the forums AJ12Gamer !

The forum and the community both are wonderful here, and now the security has strengthened a lot as well. It is a general rule of security in the cyber world to keep your passwords strong and use different passwords for different sites/services, and that was mostly what the forum message (in the announcement) was telling us to do if we already hadn't been doing so.

If you already follow that rule (keep passwords strong, and different for different sites/services), there was 'almost' nothing too alarming about it.

I meant did anyone else registered the day before the hack? Or am I the only one with bad luck? lol

Thanks for putting it in the right thread for me.

The admins here might know better, but I'd say on any given day several dozen new users register with the forums.
If when logged in you look at the bottom of the home page, you can see an entry for newest member.
    Watch how often that changes.
There are probably even users who were registering when the site went down.
