Disadvantages to installing Ubuntu on Chromebook vs other laptops

I'm looking to buy a laptop to put Ubuntu and maybe Kali on -- something around $300 -- and notice that Chromebooks are hitting around that price. I know you can install Ubuntu on Chromebooks, but I was wondering:

Are there any disadvantages to installing Ubuntu on a Chromebook as opposed to other laptops?

It's a little annoying. Because you should cutomize something technically.
You can not install windows os on chromebook.
Ubuntu unity is a little laggy with atom or arm chip.

perhaps one of the HP or Lenovo netbooks might be a better idea?

got mine for 330$ and came with win7 starter, E-450 CPU, 500 GB disk, 2GB ram (upgradeable to 8GB), very strong battery (up to 7 h) and on 13.04 everything works out of the box. so i am dualbooting win7 and Kubuntu. i just hope the 14.04 will also work like this and i am good for a couple of years. i just want to get to LTS and use that in the future.
