    initramfs boot issue

    Hey there,

I just upgraded from 13.04 to 13.10 recently but had some issues with broken packages, so i tried upgrading and fixing the issue.
When i was done, i tried restarting my computer and after booting, the next thing showing on my screen was this:

    (initramfs)

and my computer has not passed that stage since then, PLEASE WHAT DO I DO?

    Reboot.
    Hit ESC to enter GRUB.
Choose an older kernel to boot from.

How do I choose from an older kernel? This is what appears on my GRUB:

    Ubuntu
    Advanced options for Ubuntu
    Memory test (memtest86+)
Memory test (memtest86+, serial console 115200)

choose advanced options for ubuntu, then choose one of the kernels at the bottom of the list.
