Just applied updates, now no sound- bonobo extreme

I just applied some number of Ubuntu updates a night or two ago, and noticed today that my sound does not work properly. I have the:

    Bonobo Extreme
    bonx6
    Ubuntu 12.10
    Driver 3.2.7

I can go to play something and I hear sound for a second or two then it drops out. So now I go through the test dialog in the volume control panel, and test speakers and it click test on Front Left, and I hear "Front Le" and it drops out. Then the Front Right doesn't work, and if I try the left again it doesn't work. I have the same problem with headphones. I am assuming this is a driver thing, not a loose wire. Any ideas? Did anyone just apply patches/updates and lose proper sound too?

Do you still see the problem from a Live disk? You'll want to go with the latest version.

You might simply want to upgrade to 13.10 when it's released, as that's pretty near and 12.10 isn't current (and only has support for another 6 months).
