PQI USB Hard Drive doesn't work. ANy possible solutions?

Hello,
I tried to plug my PQI usb storage device into laptop, but it isn't detected.
It doesn't show up in /dev/sd* nor /dev/hd*.
It isn't even seen in dmesg.
(in Windows it isn't showed nor detected as well)
How it looks like:
- I plug my USB Drive to laptop
- Blue LED icon in USB drive is lighted on (so the power is enough to at least power the diode)
- the disk starts spinnig for about 10-15 seconds and than stops and it's dead quiet

Do you know any solution to gain data from this disk? What should I do? Are there any possible solutions, or all my data has been lost?

It sounds like you used this drive before to put your data on it, so if your doing the same thing now as you did in the past, I would say the drive is bad. In those 10-15 secs is it making any odd noises?
