You mean, how do you access programs if they are not on the Launcher?

Click the Ubuntu icon at the top-left of the screen and then click on the second icon along the bottom of the Dash. Click "Installed". Or click "Filter Results" and set some filters so you can navigate to the program you want.

Or, click the Ubuntu icon and start typing the name of the program, it will appear in the search results.

Or, right-click the Ubuntu icon, choose Applications, and click Installed or Filter Results.

    --------
If you want to know literally where in the filesystem programs are stored, the binary is usually inside /usr/bin and the other files are in various places depending on what they are. But that's not usually something you need to know about.
I try to treat the cause, not the symptom. I avoid the terminal in instructions, unless it's easier or necessary. My instructions will work within the Ubuntu system, instead of breaking or subverting it. Those are the three guarantees to the helpee.

Thanks so much. You've answered my question and then some.
