    Angry encryptfs **** and danger for your data and Linux

    I lost more than 500mb on data with that nasty thing .
    ubuntu is a frienly distro but in the setup you find that danger , encryptfs and when a new comer click on it the **** starts and your home partition is in danger.
    What for idiots make that thing , it must be baned out ubuntu and the other distros and also the can read your files online !
    You gonna hear more problems in the futher with that encriptfs software !
    Get rit off it ubuntu ore leave it away in the setup .

    huh? that is an encrypt software that encrypts yourfiles, so to see them you need a password.:

    Your home directory isn't encrypted by default, you have to specifically choose it during the install process, or add it later. It looks to me that you didn't read any of the on screen notices on first boot after setting up ecryptfs. Dustin Kirkland, the author of ecryptfs, has several blog posts here, on how to restore your data if and when you run into problems.
