Re: Laptop goes into sleep mode, logs still full of activity
What do you mean by "sleep mode"? Ubuntu has only two modes in which computer activity is actually turned off: suspend and hibernate. Of the two, hibernate is disabled and you must take special steps to reactivate it. Therefore, most computers can only suspend and must actually be suspended before activity ceases.
Many people have their power settings set to turn their monitor off after X minutes of inactivity. The monitor is in "sleep mode", but it's only the monitor. The computer is still as active as ever.
