It would help if you posted the error message. How do you know there is something wrong with that kernel? What error message do you get when you try to install something or run Update Manager or sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade in the terminal?
Without this kind of information anything we might suggest could do more damage than good.
It is a machine. It is more stupid than we are. It will not stop us from doing stupid things.

i was looking in forums and it said (sudo apt-get -f install) and it returns

Can you please tell us your hardware specs?
1gb ram
Intel® Pentium(R) M processor 1300MHz processor
unknown graphics
32 bit os
20gb hdd
...hope that helps im not sure if thats what u needed and if it helps the laptop is a ibm thinkpad
What kernel are you running now?
Code:uname -a
Linux tommy-laptop 3.5.0-23-generic #35~precise1-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jan 25 17:15:33 UTC 2013 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
The Pentium M 1,3 GHz does not display the PAE flag, which is required for recent Buntus, as is confirmed in the error message:
This kernel does not support a non-PAE CPU
You can try a fresh install of Bodhi (link in my signature) or work around the PAE problem while staying with the Buntu family, if you prefer that. Would be interesting to know if you can salvage the installation by adding Fake-PAE.

Bringing old hardware back to life. About problems due to upgrading.

Don't use this space for a list of your hardware. It only creates false hits in the search engines.
so is that the only way is to do a fresh install =(?
@mörgæs, I'm trying to figure out how the user got a 3.5 kernel installed without PAE and why it's starting to complain now
