    How to get a static address

    I have 12.04 Ubuntu so this may not work on your computer.

    All you need to do is open the Edit Connections located in Network tab at the top right of your screen and go to Wired tab then change Automatic (DHCP) to Manual click add then change all the numbers to what you want (Routers address' range between 100-200). Dont forget to allow the connection to pass through in your router settings
