Wifi packet loss, Wifi drops after a couple of minutes of idle.

When I browse the internet my internet conncetion is fine, when I leave my computer to idle for a few minutes, my internet gets disconnected while it STILL says i am connected to the wifi.
I have tried every solution listed on these forums for the same problem and nothing fix's it.
    I am using
02:00.0 Network controller: Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 01)

The network works perfectly on reboot for a few minutes and then i see all my packets are lost and my internet looks like its down and no pages respond.
I have used a live CD and using a LIVE CD fix's all issues, thus i can tell that reformatting will fix the problem
This problem occured when i first installed samba although that could not be the cause.
please can someone help me diagnose...
i can see alot of people have this issue

bump does anyone know if there is a fix?
I read that you need to compile it from source to get it working properly with the new kernal version?
