Skype wont install :'(

Hello there, I have a fresh ubuntu installation with the sudo upgrades and update commands run, which was my downfall last time. Now im retrying to install skype and its not working. I donloaded the 16mb deb file and opened it.

It just opens the skype page for it in the applicationj centre, with a image that doesnt load. When i click the "install" button, it blanks out and nothing else happens. Any ideas?

Oh, apparently with this new installation, for some reason, it doesnt start the install untill you click the app centre's "back" button. Why is that happening now?

Oh, that should not happen. Does it work now or do you encounter further issues?
