Linux alternative to portable scanner software

    Hi all,

I'm running Lubuntu 13.04 on an Acer Aspire T160 machine. Runs mostly fine, except when trying to get my portable USB scanner (Doxie One - girly I know!) to work with the software via Wine. Wine says it doesn't support USB straight off, at least not without a load of messing around.

All I really need is some software which will view the SD card contents, allow me to contrast/brighten, rotate, crop, combine images as a multi page document and then export as an OCR .PDF. Does anyone know of any alternative which will do this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    leopheard,

it may sound a bit ridiculour, but why not just use a camera on your phone, then transfer the image via it's usb, it is a bit 'james bond' if someone sees you photographing pages.

I think that if you are photographing text you can use OCR via the Gimp or similar.

And of course the Gimp will crop, rotate etc...
