    Claro Halo XT multichannel

I'm running: Ubuntu 13.04 core with XBMC-XVBA for the frontend and would like to keep it Ubuntu core as much as possible.

I have the Claro Halo XT card in my HTPC and would like to use its 7.1 analog surround feature. In the XBMC Audio Output Device settings, I can select either:
HT-OMEGA CLARO HALO, DIGITIAL S/PDIF (which works with a normal 5.1 optical+reciever setup) or
    HT-OMEGA CLARO HALO, MULTICHANNEL.

When HT-OMEGA CLARO HALO, MULTICHANNEL is chosen, it still transmits the digital optical signal and nothing comes out of the analog ports.
