Mint: frozen dialog box that i cannot close

sometimes when i am doing something that involves a dialog box, it will freeze and make it unable to close even if i end the corresponding application. i have found no other fix other than to force reboot, causing me to lose any data that I have.

attatched is a picture displaying the bug, the box in the middle unable to be closing even by using xkill.

    https://github.com/linuxmint/Cinnamon/issues/340

    Moved to Other OS/Distro Support
The Community Java Wiki * The Community ATI Driver Wiki * Find what you need in the Ubuntu Community wikis

And seeing the terror on the faces of the people, QIII did speak to them, saying "Fear not the Terminal, for it is a road both swift and secure to the Great Mysteries of Linux without passing through the dangers of The Land of Ten Thousand Competing Desktop Environments."
