Still dont like the heat generated from nouveau man it takes my card 10 to 15 degrees higher

I installed a heat pipe cooler on my nVidia 7600 GT, a while back:

It keeps the nouveau heat at bay, but you're right -- it still runs 10-15C hotter than nVidia drivers.

I've got a Nvidia GeForce 210 (GT-218), and running nouveau, current temp is at 47°C which is pretty close to what it is running nouveau-319

There is a patch for NVIDIA drivers compatibility. I've tested it with 325.15 drivers from xorg-edgers PPA and it works although it needs some tweaking for Ubuntu. I also used it in the same way as the patches coming from PPA.

Make new file in /usr/src/nvidia-325-325.15/patches/ titled buildfix_kernel_3.12.patch like this:

sudo nano /usr/src/nvidia-325-325.15/patches/buildfix_kernel_3.12.patch

and paste the contents of the attached file. Save using CTRL + o shortcut. You can also copy the file instead to that directory (change it from txt to patch).

Then edit this file:

sudo nano /usr/src/nvidia-325-325.15/dkms.conf

and add this line at the end:

PATCH[1]="buildfix_kernel_3.12.patch"

save the file and reboot or install the kernel again to build the NVIDIA module.

For a while I thought maybe psensor might be reporting wrong but nope temps at 57 dgrees C at a idle then just browsing the net no flash enabled im running
67 dgrees!
Card is GeForce 9500 PCI Express 1GB DDR2 which has a tendency to run hot anyway.
I do keep my system very Dust free..
