RPG maker alternative?

From what I can tell we seem to do this once a year... So here we go...

It's nice... But a bit hared to use... And the tutorial isn't fineshed... What do you use?

Never used RPG maker, but I have used game maker in earlier years. Real nice, not free though (Free version is very limited, but functional for getting a feel):

$100 seams like a lot to pay to export to Linux... To bad for me.
