VPN L2TP/IPSEC no ppp device

Hello,
I have a problem with my vpn when trying to connect from my ubuntu clients.
It seems like ipsec gets through and i can see some connectivity on the server side.
But there is no ppp0 device created? When I last used the VPN, like 3-4 months ago, it worked fine.
And there is no problem when connecting from a OSX client.

Is there anyone who has a spontaneous idea on what it could be?

Neverminde .. options.xltpd.client was spelled wrong, lol xD
