Syslinux freezes on copyright

Hello there, I have been starting to use linux, but syslinux messes up most of the time and freezes.
It says something like : SYSLINUX 4.06 EDD 4.06-pre7 Copyright (C) 1994-2012 H. Peter Anvin et al

System specs

Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601)
System Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard
System Model: HP G62 Notebook PC
BIOS: Default System BIOS
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M 370 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.4GHz

I have searched this problem before, and heard about that it might be because I have a HP computer. By the way, this is actually focused on different distros. I'm sorry if I can't post about them.
