Question Linux Driver For Trident CyberBlade Ai

Hi guys, does anybody have information about the latest linux driver for my old laptop's vga? It's an old Trident CyberBlade Ai coming integrated in a Toshiba 1800-S254 Series with Pentium-3 1 Ghz processor?

Actually it works fine both in GNOME and KDE but got a slow response if I navigate through the desktops and while watching movies...

If anybody got the information, it's going to be great if you could give me the instruction how to install it also. Much appreciated guys...thank you

Re: Linux Driver For Trident CyberBlade Ai

I would appreciate it as well. I'm running Dapper Drake on my Compaq Presario 1200TA and the largest I get is 800 X 600 and I'm pretty sure that it was better than that when I had windows. The major problem is basically doing anything because it takes up so much of the screen. Here's the specs for the laptop from the manufacturer:

Display -12.1" TFT SVGA Display

Graphics -VIA Trident CyberBlade i1 H/W Accelerated 3D graphics
-Accelerated 3D graphics
-Shared 4 MB SDRAM video memory
-User selectable video memory 2 MB, 4 MB, 8 MB SDRAM
-External Maximum video resolution 1600 x 1200

Not sure if this is in reference to my current resolution or what an external monitor resolution would give. Either way, some help would be great.

There are some threads on this though I'm not sure they'll solve your problems.

Take a look at the first thread, there is a xorg.conf-file that you might want to try out (I'd try it myself but I'm in the process of installing Debian on my laptop)
