Ubuntu 12.4 server (AMD64) and the CDROM Drive

    Hello,

I am trying to build a home server and have loaded the 12.04.2-server-amd64 three times now trying to get it so I can read the files off of or onto a CD-R or DVD. Once the server is built I want to SSH into the server and go from there.

I have tried creating a directory in /media/cdrom and then mounting that directory but still can't read a file off of the drive.

I can't seem to read files off of my desktop (fedora 16) from the command line either.

So can someone tell me what is the command to do so? I have searched the forums but no luck.

    Thanks in advance,
    Dave

Red face Ubuntu 12.4 server (AMD64) and the CDROM Drive

    Hello,

Still cannot access the CDROM via the CLI. Thought I had it solved but didn't.

    Have a great day.
