Windows 8 recovery keeps wiping out my installed programs

I just purchased an Asus M51AC (i7 4770) with Windows 8 pre-installed.I dual boot with Ubuntu 12.04.3 and things work out fine.So what is the problem you might ask ?I tried to install Firefox, Google Chrome, Imgburn ... (all legal, not pirated software) for Windows 8 but the recovery keeps kicking in and wipe everything out.The machine is barely 2 weeks old, I don't want to void the warranty. I installed Ubuntu on a separate SSD, keeping the Windows drive untouched.Help ! - Please don't suggest that I join a Windows forum, because I will use W8 very sparingly.

    Hello!

What do you mean when you say the recovery keeps kicking in?
The Community Java Wiki * The Community ATI Driver Wiki * Find what you need in the Ubuntu Community wikis

And seeing the terror on the faces of the people, QIII did speak to them, saying "Fear not the Terminal, for it is a road both swift and secure to the Great Mysteries of Linux without passing through the dangers of The Land of Ten Thousand Competing Desktop Environments."

Re: Windows 8 recovery keeps wiping out my installed programs

After each install**, I reboot the computer, the Recovery Partition then senses the changes made to the system and starts the recovery process - turning the O/S fresh back to the day I brought the computer home. If the machine is old I would delete that recovery partition without hesitation.**NB - I talk about W8 here - Ubuntu is fine, I am writing this post with Google-Chrome, Ubuntu 12.04.3
