    BT Sport Installation

I will hit myself around the face if this has been posted previously.

I cannot load from the BT website BT Sport. (I do have free entitlement and have gone through all the paraphernalia to obtain the web download.

However, It seems to be as though only Windows or Apple users will benefit. Am I doomed?

PS I am running Ubuntu 13.04 perfectly on a Dell Netbook Inspiron Mini 10.

Isn't BT Sport a paid for subscribed service?
I seem to recall reading it might use Silverlight

You are not likely to get it working natively on Linux, best bet for now would seem a windows virtual machine if not a real install.

I tried to use the Met Office Weather desktop widget. That also requires something from Adobe or Microsoft that does not come in a Linux version. I forget what it was. Oh, now I remember Adobe Air. You might be having the same problem.

    Regards.
It is a machine. It is more stupid than we are. It will not stop us from doing stupid things.

    From BT sports faqs.

    Check your home browser

To watch the online player on a desktop computer you'll need to install Microsoft Silverlight. This is a free browser plug-in that you can download here: www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight.
You will need windows for this. Either as dual boot or running in a VM. Silverlights linux veriosn moonlight stopped development ages a go and did not work well either. There is no way to get silverlight to run on linux period.

Glad I found this thread. BT called recently and offered BT Sports online to me. I asked him if it supported Linux. He had to go and find out from his manager. When he returned he said yes. So it looks like he should have told me no.

Ahem. He's sort of right as the app runs on Android devices.

    On Edit:
