Canoscan Lide 20

I try to use a scanner, Canoscan Lide 20, in Ubuntu 13.04. It does not work, not even in Xsane who says it can not find the scanner. When I type "lsusb" in the terminal the scanner is found: "Bus 003 Device 004: ID 04a9:220d Canon, Inc. CanoScan N670U/N676U/LiDE 20".

I have read several threads about Canoscan Lide 200, but the solutions for that model doesn't seem to work for Canoscan Lide 20. Any help would be appreciated.

The scanner works using Vuescan. Vuescan is though not free or open software.
