    System Heath App Installed?

Ubuntu seems to make my laptop run extremely hot. Is there an installed app that can check to see what the system temperatures are and if everything is within limits?

Thanks for any help on this!

It's very strange how various Linux live distributions have always made my laptops seem to run much hotter than with Windows OSs. I've never understood it.

This is the first time I've done a real install on one.

If that is true, maybe it's because Linux is a real operating system but the TOSR (Toy Operating System from Redmond) is just a, well, toy. In its defense I'll admit this: It is suitable for ages 3 & up.
In working with *nix...There be dragons. Newcomers: I recommend reading Linux is Not Windows (http://linux.oneandoneis2.org/LNW.htm) and The Linux Command Line (http://www.linuxcommand.org/tlcl.php) before beginning your quest for a better OS.
