IF you want to edit the openbox menu with a gui you could install obmenu if you wanted to. You can adjust other settings in the openbox configuration manager as normal.
Another issue that appeared because I'm not running lxsession*** any more is that stuff copied is lost when the parent app is closed. So I need to have xclipboard running to keep track of copied stuff. (xclipboard is less feature-full but lighter than Parcellite and is installed by default in Lubuntu.)

After trying out xclipboard and clipit, I've settled on xfce4-clipman.
