    Unhappy Problem during installation

    Trying to install Lubuntu 13.04 on a Pentium 4 PC. After the graphical screen and the CD spins down, I get a dark screen. Occasionally it flickers and I can see the cursor. I'm stuck here, and have no clue what to do.

    Live booting does not work.

    Pentium 4 2.2 GHz
    1 GB Memory
    SiS 651 Internal Graphics

    I suspect the SIS graphics and suggest you try using the various boot options available by hitting F6 after the first screen from the CD bootup. You may need to use any key at the screen with the keyboard and man icons at the bottom, which should get you to a language selection page annd then you'll see all the F# options along the bottom of the screen.

    SIS are not known for good Linux support.

    It's often complicated to get their cards working, but you might be able to find some advice here:
