Run the following commands in a terminal:

    Code:
    sudo updatedb
once the database has finished updating type:

    Code:
    locate <app_name>
where <app_name> = the name of the app you downloaded.

Re: ubu and google play apps

The programs on Google Play are for Android, not for Ubuntu. When it says that the program is available for your device, it is talking about the phone or tablet you have used with that Google Play account.

The program hasn't downloaded either, it is now merely associated with your Google Play account, and your phone or tablet will download it along with its usual updates.
I try to treat the cause, not the symptom. I avoid the terminal in instructions, unless it's easier or necessary. My instructions will work within the Ubuntu system, instead of breaking or subverting it. Those are the three guarantees to the helpee.
