How to install for Colombian mainstream use?
I hope somebody watching this section speaks English. My Spanish is still not easily understood.
My wife is from Colombia. I have tried to install Xubuntu for her on her laptop, but many of the system messages are in English.
I'm interested in promoting Linux when I go to Colombia next, and it would be nice to show the people I see something that might work for them. Mostly the people I know there are not experts in computing. I would be focusing on a lightweight, inexpensive system that's very easy to use.
There are two scenarios I would like to cover:
- People who have their own computer and want to install *buntu directly on it.
- A USB stick or CD or DVD that they can boot from in an Internet cafe.
This is complicated by my inability to read Spanish well enough to do the install in Spanish.
