Suggestions on whether or not to buy Toshiba P855 S5200

no i mean the p55-a5200. ubuntu runs pretty well on it and everything works out of the box. even the full hd resolution (1920x1080) is functioning out of the box on ubuntu.

I have the same machine and I can't seem to get it running out of the box. I get the backlit screen but can hear it booting up and it gives the login screen sound. What version works for you out of the box and did you have to tweak any settings at all?

Even if it is the same model number, there can be different hardware (for example graphics chip or wifi chip).
