Punch cards... heh heh. I remember filling in circles on cards with a pencil! I was about 5 or 6 years old then, I think. Child labour laws hadn't yet been introduced for the computing industry.

When I started work in the 1980s, the 8" disks were rare beasts. I think I've only seen one desktop computer that used one, ever, but I could be mistaken. The only other time I recall seeing them was in some aging cluster controllers for the terminals at work.
