Ubuntu 12.04 does not recognise my digital camera

    Hi,

Ubuntu 12.04 and Xubuntu 12.04 do not recognise my digital camera. It is a Fujifilm Finepix JV300. When I connect it via its USB cable to the computer and turn it on, it does not appear in the file manager.
As such I cannot import my photos from it.

    Any help gratefully received.

    Many thanks.

Quick searches didn't find anything current for this camera with either ubuntu or linux. There was a video-4-linux driver for the 2.6 kernel.

At this point, looks like you'll just need to pull the SDHC memory out and connect it to your computer. Most laptops have a port for this already. If not directly, you can buy a 15-in-1 memory card to USB adapter for under $10.

Sorry, there doesn't appear to be any answer is Fuji doesn't have their camera setup to act like a normal USB storage device.

Thanks, that's helpful. I'll buy a memory card to USB adapter.
