    Gnome rendering issue

When using gnome-terminal, I'm experiencing some extreme rendering issues. I am not experiencing this issues in other programs (for example Chromium) and am using the nvidia driver.

Essentially the window will not re-render properly. In vim, for example, I can load a file, and the screen will not re-render until I move my cursor up to the top of the window, which triggers a re-render everywhere down and to the right of my cursor. The same happens when I create a split - the split doesn't appear until I move my cursor to the new split pane.

How can I fix this problem?
