Black Opal, Ubuntu 12.04, New Build, Thermaltake Keyboard Help

    Hi!

I just built a brand new system.
I installed Black Opal 64-bi which is based on Ubuntu 12.04--

    -Motherboard is a MSI Z87-gd65
    http://www.amazon.com/MSI-Computer-C...ds=msi+z87gd65
-i7 (Intel)Processor; and for the power supply a Corsair 750 watt-
    -Graphics: MSI Twin Frozer 7850
    http://www.amazon.com/MSI-R7850-Twin...win+frozr+7850

I have a Thermaltake Tt keyboard but I don't understand how to change the colors under Ubuntu-
    http://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Es.../dp/B0042AI466

I read the manual that came with the keyboard but it doesn't mention a thing about changing the colors.
The keyboard came with a CD but the drivers on the CD are for Microsoft Windows. I don't have Windows on that machine just Ubuntu-
    Please; any advise is greatly appreciated;

Do I need to install an application for this keyboard?

You can try installng wine and see if it will run the Windows drivers for the keyboard.

I drink my Ubuntu black, no sugar.

    Moved to other OS.

That sounds like a very unique keyboard driver.
If very new it is unlikely a developer has written the modifications to the standard Linux keyboard driver for it.
Only recently have some of the larger game makers started to make Linux an option, so it may be a bit before other hardware catches up.

    I'll try that; oldrocker99:-

Is there a way to get the Win's driver off of that cd that came with the keyboard for Wine to see it?

    Very unique indeed; oldfred-
It was an exepensive keyboard however I have 30 days to return it.
With that said if I find that Wine doesn't work I will return the keybrd.

I did find another gaming keyboard BTW that does have Linux drivers!
These keyboards are design by a German Engineer-

    Thanks for helping me

I'll try installing Wine tonight bb to let you know how it goes--
    Wine didn't make any difference-
Think I'll just keep what I have-
