You could try ntfsfix in the ntfsprogs package (in the repo)
It don't always work, but it could fix certain error.

Hello,
this problem has been already report, see first post, and common problems.
The solution is to make a chkdsk under windows.
If you don't have windows installed on you computer, you may use the install CD with the console : I don't know how to have it... But it could be possible...
Let's hear some experts

In a network, all action (moving, creating, copying...) are made by the the host machine (the machine who host the files), what you just do is sending to the host the action you want to do. So if the host run windows, you'll be able to write nativly in NTFS partition (but only partition manage the host of course).

Yes it is.
Simply because you don't have the possibility to manage your server hardware.

jrjr, if you read the 48 page of this thread, you will see that they were a problem when renaming file created in windows with the first version of ntfs-3g (in 20-50 % of the case) but it was fastely fix, and until that time, there were no problem at all. A guy report error of chkdsk (with no perte of data), but after analyse of the dev, it was not relly error, but some kind of optimization, read it, nothing is hidden. And a lot of people use it (~300Mo /day are download from my repos, an other mirror is coming) so if there is a problem, we should know it. But always consider that as a beta soft, so don't use it in really important file.
slibuntu, let's see your /etc/fstab

Okok, now i look like an idiot, all it took was a good old fashioned reboot! Paralytic "oh my god my new os isn't working right! i dont know how to fix it!" fear took over for a while! Thanks anyway! The fstab is a backup, everythings back to normal!
