    Hi pastafarian,
Sorry for your bad experience. I need some more information so it'll not happens again:
    - which version of the driver did you use ?
    - what kind of operation did you do to the corrupted data ?
    - what was the error you get ?
    - Did you set your local correctly ?

But that's not really a problem when you do things sanely
That's one advantage the Read-Only kernel driver has, as I understand it, that it can be used to rescue data from a crashed Windows system, ie uncleanly shut down.
I wonder if you set ntfs-3g to RO it will mount an unclean system? It would be preferable, since there would be no danger of corruption then.

This looks like a great app, I was just wondering how stable is it, on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being that I don't have to worry, how stable is it. Also are there any quirks about it, like should I watch how much data I transfer or does it have a prolbem reading and writing any specific filetypes. I'm just wondering because I'm slowly converting all my computers over to Linux but my main computer has a few external HD attached and I don't really want to go through the hassle of converting them. Thanx

Great! Desktop icons work, Nautilus > Computer works, Places Links works. No more link errors messages. USB drive works as usual.

    Thanks again and great job...

Re: HOWTO: NTFS with read/write support using ntfs-3g (easy method)

None of the two repository options work with me.

The first one gives 404 not found error, and the last one gives 302 found (?) error.

    Like this:

    Code:
    http://givre.cabspace.com/ubuntu/dists/dapper/main/binary-amd64/Packages.gz 302 Found
And after that, no such package as ntfs-3g exists.

    EDIT:

Nevermind, I got Ubuntu 64 here and saw that you don't support it, I tried to build it from source, but it asks for a newer libfuse, and if I try to do the same with it (apt-get source), the 302 error is back again.
    Code:
    Err http://givre.cabspace.com dapper/main fuse 2.5.3-1 (dsc)
      302 Found
    Err http://givre.cabspace.com dapper/main fuse 2.5.3-1 (tar)
      302 Found
    Err http://givre.cabspace.com dapper/main fuse 2.5.3-1 (diff)
      302 Found
Falha ao baixar http://givre.cabspace.com/ubuntu/dists/dapper/main/source/fuse_2.5.3-1.dsc 302 Found
Falha ao baixar http://givre.cabspace.com/ubuntu/dists/dapper/main/source/fuse_2.5.3.orig.tar.gz 302 Found
Falha ao baixar http://givre.cabspace.com/ubuntu/dists/dapper/main/source/fuse_2.5.3-1.diff.gz 302 Found

Is there a wiki page for this? I think it would be rather useful... I'll help out too
