    which worked perfect,
I reinstalled ubuntu, and installed ntfs-config again.
Now when i start the gui version i can only mark the external drives
check box, and not the internal which is the one i really need.

    How can i overcome this?

    Thanks,
    Eitam.
    Configure it manually in /etc/fstab.

After trying various things, I used this solution which works for me:

    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...ght=smb+shares

Give this a go and see.
Just think how boring life would be without Ubuntu

How wouold these be set up in fstab?

Turn off the auto-mounting of other partitions or drives (NTFS, etc.) during boot.
Users are able to mount/umount those unmounted partitions or drives on demand.

Add another line using ntfs-3g for other partitions, also with
no auto-mounting and also with user abilities to mount/umount.

    And...how is a read-only option added?

If you are wondering... Yes, two different mounting options.
First using standard ntfs progs and second with ntfs-3g.

    I'm having a problem...
    I got this:

    Code:
    $ sudo mount -a
    /sbin/mount.ntfs-3g: /usr/lib/libfuse.so.2: version `FUSE_2.6' not found (required by /sbin/mount.ntfs-3g)
    /sbin/mount.ntfs-3g: /usr/lib/libfuse.so.2: version `FUSE_2.5' not found (required by /sbin/mount.ntfs-3g)
    /sbin/mount.ntfs-3g: /usr/lib/libfuse.so.2: version `FUSE_2.6' not found (required by /sbin/mount.ntfs-3g)
    /sbin/mount.ntfs-3g: /usr/lib/libfuse.so.2: version `FUSE_2.5' not found (required by /sbin/mount.ntfs-3g)
but Adept says I have FUSE version 2.6
    Chuck uses Ubuntu

Re: HOWTO: NTFS with read/write support using ntfs-3g (easy method)

    Hello,

I have some problems with my external hard disk.

I had ntfs-3g installed before the update,

but now I can't even see my hard-disk.
It is not at /media(there is only left the mount point).
    I tried to reinstall ntfs-3g,but I get "E: Couldn't find package ntfg-3g".

When Iturn on the pc, disk's lights are on

    Please give some help,I'm confused!.

If I have followed this guide and want to upgrade from Edgy to Feisty, do I have to do anything special or should the upgrade work smoothly without doing anything?

Re: HOWTO: NTFS with read/write support using ntfs-3g (easy method)

So after trying to use the "easy method" for enabling my NTFS partition I now get the following error when opening some video in totem that worked fine previously.

subclass did not specify output size

    What can I do?

I want to use Fuse with Dapper but all the repos listed are dead.

    Are there any mirrors?

    Thanks.
