    Re: HOWTO: NTFS with read/write support using ntfs-3g (easy method)

    hello . i am a complete and total newb . my prob is that when i installed and updated ubuntu <amd64> i installed ntsf-3g from the add remove options under apps. it mounted my ntfs parts but only lets me write to the one that windows is on. i can read all drives but only write to window and linux . is there a way to fix this, it doesnt sound that way after reading many other post. i was hoping that because lunix is on one drive and my windows drive is split into 4 that it wound still that drive as one cut into many and let me write to it. any hope would be great. new tutorial by the way.

    The file system type should be ntfs-3g not ntfs-fuse in /etc/fstab if you plan to use the NTFS-3G driver.

    I have the similar problem, I can read from the partition but cannot write after I reinstalled Feisty. Followed and Checked the guide and searched many others, still no luck. Every time, it gives a "Input/Output error". It worked in the last installation of Feisty, but this time it doesn't.
    I have another NTFS partition just smaller with Vista on it, that one works fine. Please, can someone help? Thanks in advance!

    im having some trouble with this section:

    {
    3. Automatic Configuration :

    If you go for the automatic configuration, install ntfs-config. It will automaticly install ntfs-3g :
    Code:

    sudo apt-get install ntfs-config

    }

    I am unable to connect with http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com

    I also searched for ntfs-3g in "add/Remove Applications", found it, and recieved the same error: cannot connect.

    Re: HOWTO: NTFS with read/write support using ntfs-3g (easy method)

    I used the synaptics to download the NTFS 3g and ntfs config. Then I just tried to use it, it didn't work because I didn't know what to do. I have an AMD 64 on Ubuntu 7. I've looked around and there doesn't seem to be any official tutorial for people who use AMD 64 and Ubuntu 7. Could someone give me a step by step instruction to how to use it?
