Your instructions and packages worked nicely. Thanks, givré.
Sorry if this is a double post. I posted it earlier, but I think it was in the wrong thread.
I just installed the latest version of NTFS-3G on my kubuntu dapper machine today. Everyhting works well except I am no longer able to plug in a USB thumb drive (FAT32) and have it automout.
I run:
and it mounts fine. My question is what do I need to change so I don't have to type that each time I plug in a USB drive?Code:pmount-hal /dev/sda1
Thanks

Is there any easy way to install version 1.0 of the ntfs-3g driver? Sorry if this has been posted before. Thanks.
It was probably asked before but I wasn't able to track it so please accept my apologies.
I'm using Ubuntu Edgy and I have successfully installed ntfs-3g. I'd like to know if there is a way to stop write access to a folder ( /media/sda1/WINDOWS in particular ) just to avoid unwanted accidents?
thanks now i can access my files in windows. Got 1 problem, i followed the manual but i think i didn't get it so i instead use the automatic. How do i remove the directory i made?
thanks
