USB thumb drives treated differently? 13.04 Gnome Classic DE

I have 2 SanDisk USB thumb drives. 1 is a 16GB Cruzer drive and the other is a new 16GB Ultra drive. The Cruzer drive (CRUZER-2) displays as a removable media on the desktop and right clicking the icon brings up the menu with 'Eject' and 'Safely Remove Drive' (attachment 1). The Ultra drive displays a removable USB device and right clicking the icon brings up a menu with only 'Eject' (attachment 2). Why is there a difference in how the drives are treated by the OS? Is there a way to get them to act in the same manner? Is 'Eject' the same as 'Safely Remove Drive'? The properties window for both drives are identical, except for the icon, and applications->disks shows the same information for both except for the model and serial number.

    Thanks,
    Jon.

Maybe the second is one of those new fangled USB drives that are detected as Hard Drives. It's some new stupid standard that has recently come out.

Yep, you're both right. I didn't look into it enough before posting. Thanks.
