Corrupted .wav audio - can it be repaired?

I have a CD of Russian exercises which seems to have got corrupted.

I've tried it from the CD, copying to the hard drive, and in VLC and Movie Player.

I've attached an exampleTrack 1.zip - you can hear that the sound is choppy. I had to .zip it as .wav is not a valid attachment.

Is there anything that I can do - or should I just give up and buy another CD?

Is there any Ubuntu programs that can automatically or manulally fix this?

EDIT: The problem is not with the CD as another CD has exactly the same choppy sounds.

    Thanks.
