Unhappy Asus 1015E locked out of admin from out-of-box (beginner)

As soon as I tried to run the install for my new computer, I was shut down with the same error message upon entering the time/date screen - there was a software issue and I had to reboot. After reaching this problem ~five times, I was prompted to create a new admin password... which I both misunderstood and failed to do. Now I am locked out of all admin priveleges, so I can't create a new partition, change my boot settings, or create a boot from a USB. I wasn't able to get a screenshot of any of this.

I've tried to get into grub, pressing shift key on boot does not work. There is no option to do a factory reset, anywhere.

Note: when prompted to enter the admin password in terminal, the only key that works is the Enter key. No letters, no numbers.

I don't have access to another computer to do this with and the only help Asus has offered is for me to ship it back - impossible, since I have to have it for school in three days.

If it helps, I ordered from Newegg. They don't offer software support, from what I've seen.

It's not exactly clear what you are saying
But normally, when you type the letters and or numbers of a password, nothing displays as you type:
Just type carefully and although nothing seems to be happening - it is. Once you complete the password, hit enter

The problem isn't that I can't type. My keyboard works fine.

I don't know the administrative password and I have no way to change it.

I am incapable of entering recovery mode, I can't format the drive, and I can't reinstall because I need the admin priveleges to create a boot disc.

I'm sorry if I'm not being clear, I really have no idea what I'm doing.

Do you no longer have a install USB of Ubuntu?

Go buy a USB stick, it only need to be 1GB
Find a friend who will download Ubuntu and make a bootable USB for you.
    You have friends right?

...Rude? I do. Unfortunately, I don't know too many people who would be willing to let me install a new operating system on their computer, even temporarily. I'm trying to solve this as best I can. If that were an option, do you really think I'd have come here?

    Sorry
I didn't mean to be rude. Sorry.

They don't need to install it
Just download a file, called a .iso And write it to the USB

Can you still get to this point

Are you sure the password doesn't work
You say you tried to change it? Do you think you succeeded ? Have you tried both passwords, the original and the one you think you tried to change it to?

Most of the people I know don't have working computers, to be honest. I have the file downloaded already, but I'm not able to write it as a boot disc.
