Boot from SD card or USB drive

I tried a lot to boot from a SD card inserted in a card reader. But my comp could not boot through it though my comp has no problem booting from a USB flash drive etc. So does that mean technically they are made with two different technology ? Is there any way to boot from a SD card in such cases ?

It depends on your specific hardware.

Some machines will boot from an SD card and others won't, if yours doesn't then there's nothing you can do to enable it.

So does that means, as a hardware, a 8gb SD card mounted on a card reader is technically different from a 8Gb USB flash drive ?

If you use a USB card reader it should work, but the cards are different if directly read. Only some BIOS allow booting from SD devices.

For devices BIOS does not support this may work.
