changing keys on e uae

I am running lubuntu on my hp mini 5101...recently installed uae to relive the glory of my youth and am wondering if there is a simple method for changing the set key options???

the cursor keys and ALT are too fiddly and together...the other options are not great either and i have no joystick.

Can I not move back to my favourite QA OP and SPACE for UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT FIRE???

Also...Is there anything special I need to do to save games??? Add a hard drive somehow???
