Your title says you want to install themes for gnome-classic, but you post says you want to install gnome-shell.

These are two different desktops. Which is it?

Its better to use KDE Plasma desktop which is different and better than gnome classic. open terminal and type this command to get and install new desktop environment for you pc.

    sudo apt-get install kde desktop

For starters there is no such package "kde desktop" in 12o4. Are you trying to tell the OP to install kde-plasma-desktop" ? Thats a 380M download on a ubuntu install.

Seems a very strong statement. "Many prefer the KDE Plasma desktop experience over the gnome classic desktop experience" seems a little more honest.

For me, I've tried KDE, and found it very confusing. (There were a lot of options that didn't have an obvious purpose, and a lot that weren't intuitive.)

At any rate, the suggestion that the OP explore their options on DE's is a good one. This one might have a reason they've selected Gnome-Classic.
    Jane, stop this crazy thing!
