    New BT Sport channels

BT Broadband customers in the UK get free access to 3 sport channels but I can't watch them using Ubuntu . I have installed the Moonlight plugins for both Chrome and Firefox, but video will not start. On Firefox I get a blank vid screen, on Chrome I get a jumbled one, but no sound or picture. Any suggestions as to why this may be? Service works fine on Android phone and tablet.

Moonlight only works in Windows. There used to be a Linux version created by the Mono project but it never worked very well and hasn't been worked on for ages now. I think you're est sticking with Android.

If its the same system as Channel 4OD then you might need to install hal
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install hal
Not being a sport fan the fact that BT wasted millions on football and will no doubt put up the prices for phone calls means that I'm leaving BT.

Silverlight is the Windows version, Moonlight was the Linux alternative but is no longer developed. HAL doesn't work either. Looks like it's Wine. Bloody hate Wine.

AFAIK the BT sport channels are only available streamed on BT Vision, or via a BT Sky sports card for those customers already with a Sky TV system.
If you know otherwise please can you provide the link.

    Look at this page...

    http://www.bt.com/sport/?s_intcid=co..._home_football

    There are 3 options...

Sky, BT Vision or Online. I'm guessing it will be tricky to get working because of the SilverLight DRM they are using (look how long its taken to get a Netflix/Wine hack going).

I've just signed up myself (free as I'm already with BT Broadband) so I'll take a look and see if I can get anywhere with it.

There is an Android app that works very well. How difficult would it be to adapt that to work in Ubuntu? After all, Android is Linux.
