    Well, the Alt + right click works most of the cases; when that same problem happened to me, that's the solution I found by looking around here in the forums. Anyways, bottom line is that the fix is easy, you just had to ask

    I guess that's because I'm not using Compiz or any effects on my Gnome session. I'll keep in mind stinkeye's solution next time.

    alt+super+Right-mouse works with either gnome-classic session while alt+Right-mouse only works in the no-effects session.
    So to save the trouble of posting the 2 different shortcuts I just give alt+super+Right-mouse no matter which session.
