What is the difference between HDD's which is said to be hot-swappable, and HDD's that aren’t?
Is it just a question about, that hot-swappable disks wont break from the sudden electrical charge when you swop them in a system?
Or is their a deeper meaning?
For example.
If you buy a 2U server with 8 3.5" bays. And you buy disks of a good quality (raid disks), but they aren’t hot-swappable.
What would the downside to that be?
Hope someone can cast a bit of light on my question ,)
Kind regards.
