How many packages does Debian have? and Arch?

I'm a really big fan of Debian and Arch, and I know for a fact that Debian has the largest amount of official packages in their repositories, though I never knew how many, I also know that arch has a modest number of official packages(about 4000), but I've heard about the AUR, and I've heard it has as much packages as Debian. So my questions are:
How many official packages does Debian stable have?
How many unoffical packages does Debian have?
How many official packages does Arch have?
How many packages does the AUR contain?
Which linux distro has more packages?

Both debian and arch are equal for the most part.
The issue you will have is the need to com[pile in arch, it doesnt offer too many pre compiled binaries.
But on the upside you do have more access to proprietary things like steam.

Debian has more packages in the official repos. The AUR is awesome....but it is a bit of a crapshoot...kinda like PPAs in Ubuntu. It is a community maintained repository and thus you can run into problems like multiple versions of the same packages, out of date packages, broken packages, improperly configured packages, and (never heard of it but possible) malicious packages.
