    xfburn can't find burnable discs

I'm trying to burn a CD-R using an external DVD-RW drive. The drive worked fine on my 12.10 installation, but since my clean upgrade to 13.04, the burning functions have stopped working. When I insert a blank disc, a dialog box appears, asking if I want to launch Xfburn or PCmanfm, so the system is recognizing that a blank disc has been inserted. But, when I start Xfburn, I immediately get the following error.

    Code:
    No burners are currently available
Possibly the disc(s) are in use, and cannot get accessed.
Please unmount and restart the application.
If no disc is in the drive, check that you have read and write access to the drive with the current user.
    The disk utility says this.

    Code:
Model: TSST corp USB Mass Storage Device (0000)
    Media: Blank CD-R Disc
    Size: 2.0 KB (2,048 bytes)
    Serial Number: 000000000001
    Device: /dev/sr0 (Read-Only)
    Contents: Unknown
Anyone know how I can get this working? I want to burn MP3s on this disc to use in my car.

    temporos; Hello,

I am going to break from forum policy and respond; because your thread is so old and 149 views with out any other comment.
I do not know .. and that breaks policy. I ,like many others, do not use XFburn and can not relate to your situation.
If you get no informative response in a 24 hour period, it is acceptable to bump your thread back to the top, preferably adding additional info to guide assistance.

    cheers
